Arne Slot must watch 19-goal attacker very closely against Liverpool, he can be the world’s best

Arne Slot should be keeping a close eye on a 19-goal attacker who is about to come up against Liverpool on Monday night.

For the next six days, Jurgen Klopp is still very much in charge of Liverpool. Beyond that, the club’s new heir to Klopp’s managerial throne is set to be Arne Slot.

The Dutchman is an interesting and equally exciting appointment. Slot plays with a similar brand of football to Klopp, and he’s got the track record of helping to build-up two Feyenoord teams into becoming the best in the Eredivisie.

The step-up to Anfield will be a steep one, but Slot has what it takes to become a successful successor to Klopp.

Why Arne Slot should watch Leon Bailey against Liverpool

Ahead of Slot taking over the Dutchman will likely be keeping a close eye on Liverpool’s next two matches – starting with the game on Monday night against Aston Villa.

But while he will be watching Liverpool’s stars, he should also be keeping an eye on Leon Bailey.

The Reds will be on the market for a winger this summer and Bailey ticks all the boxes. The Jamaican international is elusive on the ball and very direct. He also has a goal threat and the ability to create decisive moments in the final third.

This season, Bailey has already made 19 goal contributions in the Premier League for Aston Villa.

What has been said about Leon Bailey?

Based on those numbers, Bailey should definitely be on Slot’s radar. He is the kind of player who would suit Slot’s system well. And he’s been on Liverpool’s radar for some time.

Slot likes to play with traditional wingers, rather than Klopp, who preferred wingers who almost at times became number nines in his system.

Bailey is one of those players who likes to hog the lines and is a typical old-fashioned winger. In the past, his agent has backed him to become one of the world’s best players.

“If Leon is given the chance play from the start of the game, he will become the world’s best player.” Craig Butler told First Time Finish back in 2021.

“His ability to pick defence-splitting passes, to take on defenders, to shoot with either foot, and his dead ball ability, coupled with his love for the game means he has the tools necessary to go all the way .”
