Arne Slot will love working with ‘special’ Liverpool youngster next season, he’s very underrated

There’s a ‘special’ Liverpool youngster who Arne Slot will love working with at the club next season.

Jurgen Klopp is leaving his successor in good hands at Liverpool. This season, the German has put together one of the most exciting young teams Liverpool has ever seen.

There’s been a plethora of players from the club’s academy coming in and catching the eye at first team level, including in that famous Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea at Wembley.

But this is just the beginning. Over the next few years, more will come through and those who have made their mark will continue to develop under Liverpool’s likely next manager, Arne Slot.

Why Arne Slot will really enjoy working with Lewis Koumas

One of those players who has shown in glimmers this season what he is capable of is Lewis Koumas.

Koumas scored on his first-team debut with his first shot against Southampton in the FA Cup. He’s been regularly training with the first team and finished the season as the U21 team’s top-scorer – a feat he also achieved at U18 level last season for Liverpool.

Under Slot, Koumas should be given even more first team opportunities. He’s exactly the type of winger the new Liverpool manager likes working with. Koumas is direct, very good in one vs one situations and presses the ball brilliantly.

Why Lewis Koumas is ‘special’ and underrated

Earlier on in the season, Jurgen Klopp named Lewis Koumas in a group he called ‘special’ from the club’s academy.

But you still fell as though he’s going a little bit under the radar. Overshadowed probably by the likes of Jayden Danns, Bobby Clark and Kaide Gordon.

However, Koumas is equally as talented and has the potential to go very far in the game. He’s definitely one to keep a close eye on.
