James Maddison has now shared his stance on helping Arsenal on Tuesday night against Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison has now shared his stance on playing Manchester City on Tuesday night.

It is a game which the whole of the Premier League will have their eyes on at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when Pep Guardiola’s side come to town.

Tottenham got back to winning ways on the weekend with a victory over the now-relegated Burnley thanks to goals from Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven.

And it is a quick return to their north London home this week for Ange Postecoglou‘s men who will play a big role in deciding who gets their hands on the Premier League trophy.

Anything other than three points of Guardiola’s men will leave Arsenal top of the table going into the final game of the season.

However, James Maddison has now issued his thoughts on the upcoming game with many fans wishing for a Manchester City win.

What James Maddison has now said ahead of the Manchester City clash

Prior to Aston Villa’s game on Monday night against Liverpool, Champions League qualification remains on the cards for Spurs.

Albeit a slim opportunity, but Spurs could seal fourth spot if Villa were to slip up in their final two games and Spurs were to win both of theirs.

However, that is a hugely optimistic view of the situation considering Tottenham still have City to play on Tuesday.

And the top four could already be sealed by Monday night if Villa are to secure all three points against a Liverpool side who are now only playing for pride.

Speaking on the back of the victory over Burnley on Saturday, Maddison spoke to the media about where he stands on potentially handing Arsenal a free run at the title.

“Of course, we will be giving everything on Tuesday. We are professional,” Maddison told the Express.

“The only way we can qualify for the Champions League is if we win all our games, so (helping Arsenal) that’s one for the fans to talk about, not us players.”

Dejan Kulusevski also shared his thoughts on the Manchester City game

It seems there is a shared mindset across Hotspur Way going into the game on Tuesday night with Dejan Kulusevski echoing the thoughts of Maddison.

The Swede did not exactly impress on the weekend against Burnley as was withdrawn after 75 minutes for Dane Scarlett.

But speaking after the game on the weekend, Kulusevski also told the media he has his eyes on all three points on tuesday.

“I just want to win. I know it’s an amazing game now on Tuesday against City, and my focus is on that now. If we win, then anything can happen,” he said.

“It’s going to be an amazing game because we always have good games against City. It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to play against the best. I think we will absolutely be ready.”
