Mauricio Pochettino must now start £52m Chelsea player for the final two games of the season - opinion

With just two games left of the season, European football now looks more like a probability than a possibility for Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino saw his side make it three wins on the spin on Saturday, when they came from behind to defeat Nottingham Forest 3-2.

The Argentine can definitely take credit for the result too, with his tactical changes not going unnoticed by those in attendance who are on the board at the club.

For once, he had a stacked bench to call upon to change the game, and the likes of Raheem Sterling and Reece James directly contributing to goals as soon as they were introduced.

Another player who was brought on from the bench who has hardly featured this season is Christopher Nkunku, off the back of his £52m move to the club last summer.

Mauricio Pochettino has to start Christopher Nkunku

Injuries have really limited his ability to feature this season in the starring role in attack many believed he was going to have atStamford Bridge.

However, with two games that could potentially be crucial to go, it is time for Pochettino to bring the France international into his starting side.

Europa League football is still a possibility for the Blues, with that competition being reported to be a demand of the owners on the manager end of his end of season review.

Nkunku should replace Mykhailo Mudryk

When looking at players Nkunku could replace in the recently unchanged starting side, it could be a player who actually found the net who is likely to drop out.

Mykhailo Mudryk was on the scoresheet for the first time in a while on Saturday after latching on to a brilliant Cole Palmer pass.

However, with the impressive performances of Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson on a more regular basis suggest that they will keep their places for now, meaning the Ukraine international may be forced to contribute from the bench for the rest of the season.
