Pedro Porro says Tottenham have a £22m player who is even better than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro has now suggested Spurs have a player who is up there with the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side got back to winning ways on the weekend with three points against Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It turned out to be three hard-fought points for Tottenham with the Lilywhites having to come from behind to beat Vincent Kompany’s side.

And it was a goal from Pedro Porro which brought Spurs back into the game inside the first half after the Spaniard fired a shot beyond the Burnley goalkeeper.

Although Tottenham have the likes of Brennan Johnson and Heung-min Son in their attack, they had to rely on Micky van de Ven to secure the points with a stunning strike.

Spurs have been far from their best in recent weeks, Porro still believes the club have a player who is up there with the very best in world football.

Champions League football is still on the cards – albeit a lot needs to go in Tottenham’s favour – and having players like this perform will be essential if Spurs do qualify for the elite European competition.

Who Pedro Porro feels is Tottenham’s best player

It has been somewhat of a disappointing end to the season at Tottenham with four straight losses prior to the Burnley game making Champions League qualification extremely difficult.

However, there have been a lot of positives to take out of Postecoglou’s first season at the club.

And there have been some seriously impressive individual displays from some of the Tottenham players this season.

The likes of Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie have impressed, but there is one who stands out from the rest for Porro.

That player is the Tottenham captain, Son, who is ending the season with two games to add to his total of 26 goal contributions.

After the game on Saturday, Porro was quizzed by some Spurs fans who asked, ‘who is better, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo?’

But the Spaniard did not provide the answer some may have been expecting as he replied, ‘Sonny!’

The South Korean has certainly been hugely important to what Spurs have done this season – even if he looks like he needs the season to be over with now.

Ange Postecoglou change on Saturday really helped Heung-min Son

With Richarlison injured yet again, Spurs were forced to play Son through the middle against Burnley for the large majority of the game.

And it is fair to say the South Korean was not quite at his best when playing as the striker in the front threee.

However, when Postecoglou brought on Dane Scarlett for the final 15 minutes, Son returned to his more natural position on the left and instantly looked much more of a threat.

The Spurs captain should even have had an assist to his name but Johnson was somehow unable to turn the ball home from close range.

Games against Manchester City are ones in which the £22m South Korean usually flourishes in but Spurs fans may be hoping this is not the case this time around with so much resting on the title race.
