‘I’ll tell him’: David Seaman says he’s going to tell Mikel Arteta to sign £15m player

Arsenal will be busy this summer.

The Gunners have been excellent this season, but they have a couple of gaps in their squad that they need to plug if they are to challenge for the Champions League next season.

Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman, alongside his co-host Lynsey Hooper, has been discussing what Arsenal should do this summer.

Interestingly, Hooper suggested Murillo from Nottingham Forest as a potential signing for Arsenal.

Seaman was very much on board with that suggestion, claiming that he’s going to tell Mikel Arteta about this potential transfer plan the next time he sees him.

Mikel Arteta told to sign Murillo

Seaman spoke about the Arsenal manager and the £15m defender.

“Get Murillo, if I could give you one tip this summer it would be to get Murillo.

“I love that Lynsey, I’ll tell him. Lynsey says, not Seaman says, Lynsey says Mr Arteta, go and get Murillo,” Seaman said.

Murillo looks a top prospect

Whether or not Mikel Arteta listens to this advice remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, Murillo looks like a real prospect.

Yes, he’s been involved in a Nottingham Forest team this season that is a bit all over the place, but you can spot his potential a mile off.

The Brazilian is a really classy operator on the ball, and while he has plenty to learn in terms of defensive discipline, with the right level of coaching, he will be a star.

Mikel Arteta could be the perfect manager to unlock a player like Murillo.

However, with the likes of Jurrien Timber, Jakub Kiwior and Ben White all able to deputise for William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, there is an argument to make that Arsenal don’t actually need another defender this summer.

Murillo is worthy of a big move, but whether or not that move is to Arsenal remains to be seen.
