Jake Paul makes stance clear on Mike Tyson fight being 'rigged' ahead of controversial boxing bout

Jake Paul has admitted he's unhappy at claims his upcoming fight with Mike Tyson later in the year will be 'rigged'.

The duo stunned the world back in March when they revealed they'd be going up against each other at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20.

Many are unhappy with the pair for deciding to face each other due to the huge 30-year age gap between them.

Tyson is currently 57, though will be 58 by the time the battle takes place, with Paul in his prime at the age of 27.

Paul is well aware that some fans think the battle will be rigged to protect the fighters from any serious damage.

Yet that's something the former YouTuber has now insisted isn't the case, while also revealing he's out to prove everybody wrong.

“People are doubting me. I go onto the Instagram comments, and I see them all saying that if Jake Paul wins this fight, it’s rigged because of how incredible he [Tyson] looks.

"Age doesn’t matter, he’s been doing this his entire life,I’ve been doing this for four years and I’ve been doing it at a super high level.

"But on July 20th I’m going to prove that I can outbox Mike Tyson and prove everyone wrong."

Paul is a divisive figure.

Some are unhappy that he's turned to boxing, having previously made a name for himself in the acting and podcasting world.

Others think he's a breath of fresh air, however, with the 27-year-old out to provide he can cut it at the highest level.

And Iron Mike insists the fight is 'very important', while also insisting he's still capable of putting on a show despite his age.

"This fight is very important," he said.

"Just the fact that he is taking the opportunity to fight me is mind-blowing … I'm very impressed with what he's accomplished.

"The people who said that [I am too old to fight] wish that they were up here. No one else can do this.

"Who else can do this? Who else can shut the sporting world down? No one else can do it.

"You got the both of us, so we're going to do this. We're friends. There's no doubt we're friends.

"But in the ring, we're not going to be friends. That's just what it is.”

He added: “We're going to see, huh, [if Paul can take my power]. No, I'm not [trying to put an end to Paul]. I really like Jake a lot.

"But once he's in that ring, he has to fight like his life is depending on it, because it will be.

"This seems like it's going to be fun. Maybe we'll do it again, too [against someone else]. But can I take care of Jake first, please?"

Netflix will stream the upcoming fight.

However, former boxing star Tony Bellew has criticised the streaming service and claimed they don't care about Tyson or his health.

"I don't think Netflix cares about Mike's health, they generated 25 billion last year," he told Boyle Sports, who provide the latest boxing betting.

"Netflix doesn't give a s**t about Mike Tyson. They don't give a monkey's a** about Mike.

"No one cares and the saddest part is, Mike knows that - he's been there, done it and got the T-shirt."
