Liverpool reportedly could strike big £30m blow to West Ham by signing 22-yo right-footed winger

West Ham United could be set to miss out on one of our key summer transfer window targets to Liverpool.

Incoming West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui has a serious amount of work to do with the current squad in the summer transfer window.

There is set to be a big player exodus from the London Stadium before the start of next season, so Lopetegui will have to make a whole host of new signings.

The 57-year-old apparently has six new signings planned for the Hammers, but my gut feeling is that he will need to make at least two more than that.

One of Lopetegui’s main priorities should be to sign a top-class left winger this summer, after David Moyes allowed Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals to leave in January without replacing either of them.

There is a player out there who’s absolutely perfect for us, but it seems like Liverpool could be about to throw a spanner in the works…

Liverpool to deal West Ham a summer transfer window blow

So, one of the Hammers’ key transfer targets has now moved firmly in the sights of Liverpool according to one top reporter.

Football journalist Ben Jacobs told Give Me Sport:

“Liverpool are going to be in for a really busy summer and there will be additions, particularly in a wide winger-type area.”

“Regardless of the fact that Mo Salah is expected to stay, with Luis Diaz not signing a new deal as of now Liverpool are still going to be looking for a slightly younger, wide, creative-minded player.

“That is where a target like Crysencio Summerville comes into the conversation potentially, and others of his profile, and they’re also going to be looking for a centre-back which has been a priority long before they knew who their new manager was.”

Summerville, 22, is a player who the Hammers have been strongly linked with signing over the past few months.

Leeds could ask for around £30 million for the young Dutch winger (TEAMtalk), and that sounds like exceptional value to me.

A right-footed left winger, Summerville has bagged 20 goals and 10 assists in 47 appearances for Leeds this season (Transfermarkt).

He is an exceptionally talented young player, has pace to burn and backs up his blistering speed with real output.

The 22-year-old would be a stunning signing for West Ham in the summer transfer window, but Liverpool could well spoil the party.
