Report: Player Crystal Palace were linked to in January now set for farewell appearance

There are plenty of different positions that Crystal Palace want to strengthen this summer, now one target is set to say his goodbyes.

For Oliver Glasner, despite incredible form over the past month, there is likely still a lot of work to be done.

Crystal Palace are a squad lacking any depth and the starting lineup looks set to be raided this summer too.

One area which desperately needs reinforcement is the centre-back department, which is weak beyond the starting trio, and there could be a big exit for Marc Guehi this summer.

With Nathaniel Clyne doing an excellent job on the right side of the three, it could be thought that Palace will look for an upgrade on him. Now one option seems to be becoming available.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka set for Manchester United farewell

It had been reported a few months ago that Palace and Manchester United had held talks over a potential swap deal between Michael Olise and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

This seemed unlikely, but his return to Selhurst Park could still be on the cards as he fits the bill of what Palace need this summer.

According to a report from The Sun, Wednesday, May 15th at Old Trafford will be Wan-Bissaka’s farewell game for United at home after five years at the club.

The report continues to explain that Wan-Bissaka has a T-shirt made for after the game which has an image of him with the Carabao Cup trophy which could be a sign that he’s expecting to depart.

If he was brought to Palace, where would he fit in?

Where would Wan-Bissaka play?

As a right-back, Wan-Bissaka’s strength has always lay in his defensive work and that could mean he’s perfectly suited to play in the right side of Palace’s back three.

His excellent defensive attributes would lend themselves well to playing in that Clyne role.

Given how little Wan-Bissaka seems to be valued at United, it could be that he’s available for a fairly cheap fee as he has just a year left on his contract.

If Guehi is sold for £50m, Wan-Bissaka would likely cost a fraction, and allow for a second defender to arrive. Especially if Olise is heading the other way.
