John Hartson delivers instant 12-word verdict on Celtic winning the Scottish Premiership title

Celtic have retained the Scottish Premiership title in style thanks to a 5-0 demolition of Kilmarnock on Wednesday night.

Brendan Rodgers’ Bhoys didn’t need long to break the deadlock, eventually making light work of their opponents at Rugby Park.

Celtic, who needed just one point to secure the title following their derby win, were up and running early on as Adam Idah opened the scoring in the fifth minute.

Daizen Maeda then made it 2-0 in the 12th minute before James Forrest added a third on 35 minutes.

The impressive Matt O’Riley then scored either side of Danny Armstrong’s disallowed effort for the hosts to add gloss to the scoreline.

Celtic’s win on the night sees Rodgers deliver the title in his first season back in Scottish football and made it three title triumph in a row for the Hoops.

Indeed, the Bhoys have now won a 12th title from their last 13 seasons, testament to their dominance in Scottish football.

Celtic legend John Hartson loved what he saw on the night and took to X with a 12-word verdict about their 54th title win.

“Champions again.. Celtic just know how to get these league titles won,” he wrote on the social media platform.

What’s next for Celtic after Scottish Premiership title win?

Celtic will lift the Scottish Premiership trophy after their final game of the league season, against St Mirren at Parkhead on Saturday, 12:30pm kick-off.

The Hoops will then contest the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park on Saturday 25 May as they take on their Glasgow rivals.

Rodgers’ return to Celtic last summer was met with a somewhat mixed reaction, but winning the cup will no doubt redeem him fully to the fanbase.
