THIS Saturday, Highclere-based artist Chris Boulton will be holding his fourth charity art exhibition in aid of Pelican Cancer Foundation www.pelicancancer.org and My Cancer My Choices www.mycancermychoices.org
The venue is the Westridge Studio, Star Lane, Highclere, RG20 9QS, just to the south of Newbury, with the exhibition open 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
This year Chris’ collection is very different and includes many oil paintings influenced by music and dancing and also soft furnishings, furniture and painted mannequin lamps.
In the gallery space on the ground floor visitors will be able to enjoy a wide array of dance music while looking at the pictures and the first floor will be themed just like Austin Powers’ bedroom would be if he had lived in Highclere!
Chris is a bowel cancer survivor and also suffered a cardiac arrest last November. Each year he holds a charity exhibition as part of the West Berkshire and North Hampshire Open Studios
Chris said: “This year I thought I would do some very different works of art and bearing in mind my love of Northern Soul and that I have started to learn to ballroom dance many images are inspired by dance.
“I have also enjoyed experimenting with fabrics and furniture. It is an extra special exhibition for me in view of what’s happened over the last few months.”
His exhibition this May is his third and he hopes to raise further funds for his chosen cancer charities.
