Watch late-night fireworks and Brendan Rodgers address at Celtic Park as fans turn out for Bhoys title win

Celtic are champions and supporters spontaneously turned out at Celtic Park to celebrate the achievement and welcome the team back from their 5-0 victory at Rugby Park.

Adam Idah, Daizen Maeda, James Forrest and Matt O’Riley were all on the scoresheet to punish Kilmarnock and sprint over the title-winning line on Wednesday night.

Brendan Rodgers has guided the club to a third successive title after previous successes under Ange Postecoglou.

It’s been a long, hard season but with the pressure really on this group of players have delivered. They’ve definitively proven they are the best team in Scotland once again.

The celebrations have already kicked off ahead of a special trophy day presentation at home to St Mirren on Saturday afternoon.

Brendan Rodgers in late-night address to Celtic fans

After the match, thousands flocked to Celtic Park to welcome back the team bus. Fan media outlet The Cynic captured the stunning fireworks on display via social media, giving those who couldn’t make it a taste of the atmosphere.

Celtic themselves will likely be posting more footage throughout today too, already barraging fans with plenty of content well into the night after the full-time whistle.

They showed the team lining up to take their ovation in front of the supporters, with music and mutual applause.

Rodgers was delighted to take the microphone and addressed those congregated too. He spoke to Gerry McCulloch about the contrast to the turnout when he was appointed manager last year.

The Celtic boss said [Clyde 1]: “I stood here a year ago and there were about 200 people here. I said I’d see you back here in May. We have a few more than 200 here now, fantastic! When you manage Celtic or play for Celtic or work for Celtic, we actually live for you.

“Hopefully tonight you can be proud of the team and the club and we can really celebrate on Saturday when the season finishes. Thank you very much!”

Saturday promises to be one of those fantastic occasions for supporters again. We’ll get the joy and spectacle of the trophy lift at Celtic Park before thousands head to Glasgow city centre for more jubilant scenes.
