Owen Hargreaves wants to see more of 'talented' Man Utd player, expects him to shine next season

Manchester United had one standout player against Newcastle and now Owen Hargreaves has had his say on the talent.

Wednesday under the lights at Old Trafford for the final time this season, Manchester United gave fans something to be happy about in a 3-2 win over Newcastle.

It was the first win in weeks and it has created some slight momentum, which is vitally needed ahead of the FA Cup final a week on Saturday.

In the game, Amad Diallo was shining bright, as was Kobbie Mainoo and the third goal was scored by Rasmus Hojlund.

Now, former United midfielder, Owen Hargreaves, has been raving about one of them.

What has Owen Hargreaves said about Amad Diallo?

During Wednesday’s game, Hargreaves was on punditry duty for Premier League Productions and had a lot to say about Amad.

“Amad is a talented young man”, Hargreaves began to explain before continuing.

“You have to play these guys to see what happens next season. Amad is technically a good dribbler and it was a really nice strike for the goal. You watch these kids play and you want to see more of them.

“Sometimes you have got to hang around the box and it comes to you. Amad hits it as clean as you can hit a ball.

“A lot of United fans are probably surprised [he hasn’t played much]. They are playing Amad now so they can plan for next season.”

Amad has had to be patient for his chance, but as explained here, he’s taken it and now looks firmly in the plans of Erik ten Hag going forward.

Manchester United don’t need to sign Michael Olise

One of the Premier League‘s best right now is the brilliant Michael Olise, and United are said to be among his leading admirers.

That being said, the emergence of Amad into the player we always knew he could be, does kind of negate the need for Olise to be signed.

Amad could be just as good and has the talent to be a world-beater if played consistently and trusted next season.

It’s laughable that Ten Hag has taken this long to reach this conclusion, but now, there isn’t any reason to think about replacing him.

Amad on the right with Alejandro Garnacho on the left could be the wing partnership for years to come if United are lucky and both reach their unlimited potential.
