How the Celtic players reacted on social media to becoming champions vs Kilmarnock

Celtic were crowned Scottish Premiership champions last night and have all summer to bask in the glory of another successful league campaign.

The Bhoys thrashed Kilmarnock 5-0 at Rugby Park to ensure their lead at the summit became unassailable, with Adam Idah, Daizen Maeda, James Forrest and Matt O’Riley on the scoresheet before the celebrations officially commenced.

Brendan Rodgers, the players and Celtic supporters have all had their part to play in another momentous moment in the club’s illustrious history, which hasn’t come easy in a season that has produced its fair share of heart-stopping moments along the way.

Nevertheless, all involved were able to soak up a party atmosphere at Rugby Park followed by an encore at Parkhead in front of a hardcore following who showed love and appreciation for their heroes.

With all that said, several Celtic players have been reacting to winning the Scottish Premiership title on social media amid the joyous scenes.

Celtic players react to winning the Scottish Premiership title

In the midst of the players enjoying some well-deserved downtime after a gruelling campaign, some have taken to social media to share their delight at claiming another league winner’s medal.

Kicking things off, Celtic talisman Kyogo Furuhashi took to X sharing a selection of pictures from what turned out to be a brilliant day for anyone of a green and white persuasion, simply adding the caption ‘Thank you’ with three trophy emojis and a four-leaf clover emoji attached.

The Japan international has scored some decisive goals that have led the Bhoys to glory, including match-winning strikes against Rangers at Ibrox and Parkhead, resulting in two wins that have gone a long way to maintaining a current six-point advantage at the summit.

Time and time again, Furuhashi has been the instigator for Celtic, and he has now won six trophies at the club.

Daizen Maeda also posted on the outlet, putting up an amusing comparison between his two different hairstyles, firstly in 2023/24 and then casting an eye back to last year’s title party at Tynecastle, accompanied by a tweet that read through translation: ‘Is it better to have hair or not? Which one is better?’

Enjoying another terrific campaign, the 26-year-old miraculously recovered from a hamstring problem that was set to keep him out for the season to play a vital role in the Hoops’ final league matches, confounding medical expectations.

Maeda is always two or three steps ahead, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that he recuperated in an abnormal fashion.

On Instagram, Canadian right-back Alistair Johnston shared a brilliant picture of him and his teammates taking it all in that read: ‘Champions. (again)’ finished off with a four-leaf clover emoji.

Celtic owe a lot of their positive work to his relentless endeavour on the right-hand side. He is a firm fan favourite who has enjoyed another year to be proud of under Rodgers.

Greg Taylor and Luis Palma’s class social media posts

Ever-reliable defender Greg Taylor is next on the agenda, and he took to Instagram as well, sharing some class images from inside the away dressing room, where he can be seen absolutely delighted, holding a bottle of champagne.

The Scotland international is the only senior squad member in his current position and has turned in some tireless performances this season, something that often goes under the radar.

Last but by no means least, Luis Palma posted a great tweet on X that said: ‘Campeón con el más grande de Escocia’, translating to ‘Champion with the greatest in Scotland’, which is exactly what he is following a promising debut campaign where he has scored some stunning goals.

Everyone has had their part to play this season for Celtic, making it all the more delightful that they are now Scottish Premiership champions for a third year running. Hail Hail!
