DNA tests needed to ID remains found in 1 of 3 cars pulled from N.J. river

DNA testing will be used in an attempt to identify the remains found in one of threesubmerged vehicles pulled Thursday from the Cooper River in Pennsauken, officials said Friday.

Pennsauken police and officials from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office removed the vehicles, which were in the river along North Park Drive just south of Kaighn Avenue, authorities said.

The remains were found in the driver side area of one of the vehicles.

The FBI, State Police and other county agencies were also involved in the recovery. Authorities did not say what led them to locate and remove the vehicles from the river.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Ryan Durham of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office at 856-225-5127 or Pennsauken police Detective Ryan Hurley at 609-922-9023. Tips can also be sent to CAMDEN.TIPS.
