Report: Ange Postecoglou personally wants to sign bargain £15m star who's scored more goals than Heung-min Son

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is eyeing a bargain move to sign one of the most prolific strikers in Europe.

Spurs officially missed out on Champions League qualification on Tuesday after suffering a 2-0 defeat at home at the hands of Manchester City.

Postecoglou is now desperate to strengthen his squad, and a new striker is said to be on the agenda. Tottenham are now eyeing a move to sign a Bundesliga star.

Tottenham eye bargain move for ‘goal machine’ Serhou Guirassy

Tottenham made the bold decision of not replacing Harry Kane in the summer of 2023.

The England captain was undoubtedly Spurs’ best player. He was the biggest reason why the North Londoners were a threat every single season, and his departure last summer was viewed as a massive blow.

Ange Postecoglou had a decision to make, and instead of using the big money they received for Kane to sign a new striker, the Australian decided to strengthen other areas of the pitch.

Heung-min Son and Richarlison have shared responsibilities up top, and to be fair to them, they have done a decent job more often than not.

However, Tottenham do need an out-and-out striker, and they are expected to make a move to sign one once this summer’s transfer window opens in June.

GiveMeSport claim that Serhou Guirassy is on Spurs’ wish list now.

The report claims the Guinea international has made his way onto Postecoglou’s radar because the Tottenham boss has found it hard to ignore his performances for Stuttgart this season.

It has further been revealed that Postecoglou personally believes Guirassy presents ‘a great opportunity to exploit the market’ because he would be considerably cheaper than all their other striker targets.

The 28-year-old, branded as a ‘goal machine’ by beIN Sports, has a release clause in his contract that makes him available for just £15 million this summer.

The report adds that Postecoglou’s ‘Tottenham are seriously considering upping the ante in their pursuit’ of Guirassy, and could well trigger his release clause soon.

Serhou Guirassy’s stats will blow you away

It is no surprise that Ange Postecoglou views a move for Serhou Guirassy as a great opportunity.

All the top strikers in the world will cost a fortune in today’s market, but Guirassy, whose numbers look better than almost all the forwards Spurs have been linked with, will be available for just £15 million.

The Guinea international, who has previously been linked with Tottenham, has scored 28 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions for Stuttgart this season.

That’s 11 more goals than what Spurs skipper Heung-min Son has managed this term.

Guirassy is also the second-highest scorer in the Bundesliga this season – only Harry Kane has managed to score more goals than him.

We all know Daniel Levy loves a bargain, and at £15 million, Guirassy would be a steal for Tottenham this summer.
