'I have lost count': Karren Brady shares the one thing West Ham fans continually ask her

West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has hit the headlines once again after sharing one of her hard-hitting opinions.

Despite what many people may believe, Karren Brady plays an integral role behind the scenes at West Ham.

And she is highly appreciated by those who work close to her.

Big change lies ahead at West Ham, with David Moyes set to leave the London Stadium this summer, and Brady recently spoke extremely highly about the outgoing Hammers boss.

The feeling is clearly mutual, and Moyes has raved about Brady on numerous occasions in the past.

Whilst Moyes is clearly a big fan of the Hammers vice-chairman, the same cannot be said for the fans.

Many West Ham supporters still hold a grudge against Brady after she mis-sold us the dream of moving to the London Stadium.

However, one thing she can never be accused of is shirking responsibility, and getting to the crux of difficult subject matters.

Her latest comments in the Sun certainly fit into that category…

Karren Brady shares what West Ham fans continually ask her

The Hammers vice-chairman has a history of coming out with controversial statements, and sharing her forthright opinions.

Brady does not shy away from hard-hitting subjects and is well-renowned for tackling hot topics head on.

And this time was certainly no different…

When writing her regular column for the Sun, Brady said, “To VAR or not to VAR, that is the question. Well, it will be next month when all 20 Premier League clubs will decide what to do about the most controversial new plaything in football since they invented the ref’s whistle. Not quite, but you get my point.”

Brady explained, “You don’t need a PhD in human behaviour, or even more baffling, the handball laws, to realise VAR has not been a universal success. It was supposed to iron out the mistakes, make the game fairer for all and improve the overall experience for fans. To put it plainly, it has done none of that. At West Ham any decision on which way to vote has not yet been decided but in many ways VAR has been a disaster, especially for the lifeblood of the game, the supporters. I have lost count of the number of times fans have said to me, ‘please get rid of it’ — and I can sympathise.”

Let’s all be real here, the way that VAR is being operated is not fit for purpose.

It’s not the technology itself that is at fault, but rather those who are in control of making decisions on the back of it.

If I had my way, we would keep the goal-line technology and the automated offside system but scrap the rest.

For the match going fans, the product has become a tepid form of what was once a great sport to witness live.

Something needs to change because the passion and spontaneous nature of the game has been completely lost.

West Ham fans don’t often agree with Karren Brady, but this time I think that most will be thinking along exactly the same lines as her.
