'You know...': Gabby Agbonlahor now makes U-turn on Jurgen Klopp ahead of final Liverpool game

Jurgen Klopp’s final Liverpool game takes place tomorrow and one man who you’d think would be glad to see the back of him is Gabby Agbonlahor.

Agbonlahor and Klopp have had a bit of a rough period in recent years, with the TalkSPORT pundit often commenting on the Liverpool boss.

Indeed, Agbonlahor went as far to label Klopp a ‘big baby’ on TalkSPORT back in December, while Klopp has also dug out the former Villa striker in press conferences.

However, ahead of Klopp’s final game tomorrow v Wolves, there are signs Agbonlahor’s stance has softened a touch.

And speaking on TalkSPORT about Klopp, Agbonlahor admitted that the Premier League will indeed miss the German.

Gabby Agbonlahor comments on Jurgen Klopp ahead of final Liverpool fixture

Talking about the game with Wolves and predicting a narrow Liverpool win, Agbonlahor has said that the reality is that Klopp has delivered and labelled him ‘outstanding’.

“It will be an emotional day at Anfield, Liverpool hosting Wolves. I think Wolves are trying to finish their season on a high,” Agbonlahor said.

“I don’t see it as a comfortable win for Liverpool. Yes, it is the last game of the season, they can’t go up or down in the position in the table. You know, Jurgen Klopp leaving, I haven’t seen eye to eye, but he has been an outstanding manager, what he has done for the city of Liverpool, Liverpool fans, winning the Premier League against a tough Pep Guardiola’s team, Champions League as well, and the football they play is entertaining.

“He will be missed for the Premier League for sure. I will go for a 2-1 win to Liverpool and tight game.”

What Jurgen Klopp has said about Gabby Agbonlahor in the past

Klopp rose to some comments from Agbonlahor back in August of 2022, when the TalkSPORT man had criticised Manchester United.

At the time, Klopp had a dig at the former Villa man, labelling him not a mentality monster.

“It was obviously not a nice week for United after the Brentford game. We forget in these moments how good Brentford are. It [the reaction to it] was that bad, I drove home after watching the first half here [at the training ground] and I listened to TalkSPORT and Gabby [Agbonlahor],” Klopp said.

“He lost against us 6-0 in my first year, so I couldn’t remember him as a mentality monster on the pitch then – but what he said about Man Utd in that show, I was close to calling in and telling him: ‘You forgot completely that you were a player’.

“And if ex players go already like this, you can imagine how everything else is going. You have to ask yourself how you want to react in a situation like this.”

Of course, Klopp will not be worried about the pundits come Sunday when all is done and dusted.

But still, at least Agbonlahor has had some nice words to say about the Liverpool boss on the eve of his departure.
