Moyes says West Ham player has got quicker and stronger than he ever was before this season

West Ham United manager David Moyes has been mightily impressed by one player in particular this season.

David Moyes will bow out as West Ham manager after this afternoon’s Premier League clash with Manchester City at the Etihad.

Julen Lopetegui is set to replace the Scot, and apparently has grand plans to push us on into the Champions League.

Whilst now is the right time to move Moyes on, it must not be forgotten just how much progress he has overseen at the London Stadium.

The Scot took us from a team threatened by relegation to three successive European campaigns. Let’s not forget as well, he guided us to our first major trophy since 1980!

Arguably Moyes’s greatest attribute has been improving certain players beyond all recognition. Whilst he has undoubtedly jettisoned certain players, he has helped guide others to new levels entirely.

And the 61-year-old has been speaking about one of those players in particular…

David Moyes raves about one West Ham player

In fairness to Moyes, whether you like him or not, it’s impossible to argue against the fact that we’re in a better position now than when he took over at the London Stadium for the second time four-and-a-half years ago.

And one player in particular is a shining symbol of the fine work that Moyes has done at West Ham, and he embodies everything that the Hammers boss stands for.

Moyes opened up on some big improvements made by Jarrod Bowen this season, as quoted by the Daily Star:

Moyes said, “He’s gained more speed and power. He’s very good way in his general play. But his finishing…he’s thriving on the goals! He’s got a wee bit of the eye of the tiger in him at the moment. I’ve got to hope he keeps that going for us.”

Bowen has been in sensational form this season, with 20 goals and 10 assists to his name.

He is being heavily tipped to be part of Gareth Southgate’s England EURO 2024 squad, and rightly so.

The 27-year-old has undoubtedly reached another level this season. He’s now entering his prime years, and will surely get even better for the Hammers.

David Moyes made his feelings on the West Ham forward very clear, and I’m sure that the Hammers fans will all agree with what the gaffer said about the former Hull City ace.
