Tottenham's dream revenge as Arsenal hopes hit by Moyes farewell sickness bug?

Are Tottenham about to have their dream revenge as Arsenal’s title hopes are hit by a West Ham sickness bug?

It was a case of mission accomplished for many Tottenham fans when they lost to Man City in midweek.

That victory handed Manchester City the advantage over Arsenal in the race for the Premier League title.

It has all come down to a final day title decider as West Ham go to the Etihad.

Arsenal need to beat Everton at home while hoping West Ham can beat or hold Man City to a draw at the Etihad.

Tottenham will have more than one eye on the final day drama too as they hope the Hammers are well beaten to stop their arch rivals Arsenal winning the league.

The irony of the situation has not been lost on fans of any of the clubs involved.

The fact it is David Moyes’ last game as West Ham boss has been lost among the bigger picture.

Arsenal fans who have been goading their West Ham counterparts over the signing of Declan Rice are now desperately pleading for their help them win the title.

Lasagne-gate part two?

Spurs and Arsenal are no strangers to last day drama involving West Ham.

This month marked 18 years since the infamous incident when Tottenham visited West Ham on the final day of the season looking to clinch the final Champions League spot.

Spurs only needed to match Arsenal’s result against Wigan in order to clinch the final Champions League spot at their rivals’ expense.

It was a tantalising possibility, but disaster struck for Tottenham from an unlikely sauce.

Tottenham’s pre-match meal caused an outbreak of vomiting and nausea among the players at their Canary Wharf hotel on the eve of the game.

A strong West Ham performance coupled with the impact of the dodgy lasagne saw Martin Jol’s Tottenham side succumb to a costly 2-1 defeat the next day which saw them miss out on the Champions League.

Much to the delight of Arsenal, whose fans and players sang bubbles at Highbury in tribute to West Ham helping them make Europe’s top competition ahead of their fierce rivals.

Tottenham’s dream revenge as Arsenal hopes hit by sickness bug?

West Ham Zone are reporting unverified claims about news from the Hammers camp.

And it will devastate Arsenal while delighting Spurs and Man City.

It is being claimed that West Ham have a bug going around the camp with late checks taking place before their clash against Manchester City.

Quoting a “team news insider” the report states the Hammers may be without some key players due to illness for their trip to the Etihad.

Arsenal’s hopes were already bleak given West Ham’s dismal record against City and woeful defence.

So imagine how a weakened Hammers team might fare?

West Ham illness will leave Arsenal feeling sick

West Ham fans are largely unfussed about the outcome of their game given they have already sealed a ninth place finish.

But Spurs and Arsenal fans won’t believe the irony nearly two decades on from the infamous lasagne-gate which saw Tottenham miss out to their bitter foes for a Champions League spot.

Much will be revealed by Moyes’ teamsheet when the sides are named at 3pm.

However, when Spurs were hit by their sickness bug, many players tried to play the game despite being ill.

So even if Arsenal see star names in West Ham’s line-up, it may not necessarily mean they are 100 per cent fit and well.

You couldn’t make it up. West Ham players being ill will leave Arsenal feeling sick.

Although there may be hope for the Gunners from The Athletic’s West Ham Reporter Roshane Thomas.

He has taken to social media to deny the claims of a sickness bug in the Hammers camp.

Never a dull moment is there?
