What Chelsea fans yelled at Moises Caicedo after ridiculous goal vs Bournemouth - journalist

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo scored his first goal for the Blues against Bournemouth, and it was a sensational one.

The ball came to Moises Caicedo at the half-way line and with Neto out of his goal, the 22-year-old was able to send an incredible shot into the back of the Brazilian’s net.

It really epitomised Caicedo’s upturn in form. Following his move from Brighton & Hove Albion to Chelsea last summer, which made him the most expensive signing in the club’s history, the Ecuadorian came in for a lot of criticism for his performances.

However, recently, he has been excellent for the Blues.

For example, in Chelsea’s 3-2 win against Nottingham Forest earlier this month, Caicedo made three interceptions, which was the most in the game, according to WhoScored.

How Chelsea fans reacted to Moises Caicedo’s goal against Bournemouth

Caicedo left it late, but his strike against Andoni Iraola’s side is easily one of the goals of the season.

And Chelsea fans, understandably, enjoyed it.

After his goal, the Stamford Bridge faithful were heard shouting “shoot” every time the Ecuador international got on the ball, journalist Bobby Vincent shared on X.

With a season of football at Chelsea under his belt, you would now expect Caicedo to be way more consistent in the 2024/25 campaign.

Did Moises Caicedo justify his £115m transfer fee this season?

Chelsea paid Brighton a club-record £115m fee to sign Caicedo.

Given that he only hit top gear recently, it is hard to argue that Caicedo has been worth his price tag.

That being said, it is such a huge fee that the former Brighton man was never going to be able to show that it was money well spent in just a single season.

But if Caicedo maintains this level as he goes deeper into his extremely long contract at Chelsea, then people are going to talk less about how much money it took to get him out of the Amex Stadium.
