What Martin Odegaard told Arsenal fans at full-time against Everton after missing out on Premier League title

Arsenal defeated Everton 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium to take their total for the season to 89 points, though, it wasn’t enough to win the Premier League title.

That feat went to Manchester City, who cruised to a 3-1 victory against West Ham United to win it for the fourth successive time – a new top-flight record.

Despite the disappointment, Arsenal fans can be proud of how their side have performed and progressed through the season.

They didn’t fall away like last year and Martin Odegaard alluded to that notion speaking to the fans at full-time.

Martin Odegaard believes the fans have more trust in Arsenal

It wasn’t to be for The Gunners but notwithstanding that, progression has been made as they’ve added a steelines to their game.

Odegaard addressed the Emirates faithful after the Everton clash and admitted he believes they have more trust in the side.

“I think you all believe in us now. To be honest I can’t wait to come back after the break. We have to use the break to come back even stronger, even more hungry, and push to win everything.”

The Arsenal captain noted that he’s hungry to get back for pre-season and go again, which is certainly a difference from how many would’ve felt this time last year, as they staggered over the line as runners-up.

Progession is evident

Whilst, ultimately, the season has resulted in a runners-up finish like last term, the feeling is totally different.

Arsenal ran City right to the wire and appeared to grow in strength during difficult moments, so it’d hardly be surprising if they go one better next year.

A telling summer transfer window awaits.
