'Probably not': Micah Richards admits he's shocked by how poor £45m Arsenal player has been this season

Arsenal failed to win the Premier League title today and Micah Richards has hinted that one player needs to be replace next season.

The Gunners did all they could by beating Everton at The Emirates but Manchester City cruised past West Ham to win their fourth title in a row.

While the immediate disappointment will be there for a bit for Mikel Arteta and his troops, attention will soon have to turn to the summer and the transfer window.

Arsenal are expected to be busy with players coming and going.

And according to Micah Richards, one of the players who Arsenal needs to be looked at being replaced is Brazilian striker, Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal told to replace Gabriel Jesus next season

Speaking after the game on Sky Sports (quotes via the BBC), Richards admitted to not being overly impressed by how the £45m forward has performed at Arsenal.

“It is a brilliant young team and there is more to come at Arsenal,” Richards said.

“Kai Havertz has done well and Gabriel Jesus has probably not played at a level which we expected when he left Man City.

“If you’re looking on how they can improve they need to get a striker who can score all type of goals, even when Erling Haaland has not played at his best he has scored goals.”

Arsenal need a forward

They needed one in January and while you could argue its not affected them too much this season, Richards’ comments on Jesus are bang on.

He simply hasn’t lived up to the billing really since his move from Manchester City and there is now a big decision coming for Edu and co.

The likes of Ivan Toney, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres have all been linked with a move and you’d have to say, a striker is now needed.

As Richards says, Erling Haaland is there scoring goals when he’s not even playing well. Arsenal need to try and find similar or it could be deja vu next term.
