Newcastle United superstar Bruno Guimaraes has delivered a message to Toon fans after an incredible performance against Brentford.
The 26-year-old was the best player on the pitch as Newcastle United ended the season with a win, beating Brentford to finish seventh in the Premier League.
The win means that the Magpies must now wait to discover their European fate, with a Manchester City FA Cup win set to hand Newcastle Europa Conference League qualification.
It is going to be a nervous few days, after Newcastle passed up the chance to finish in the top six and guarantee European football. That is what Bruno was hoping for, but it was not to be.
Bruno Guimaraes already looking towards next season
It will be an agonising wait to discover if Newcastle are in Europe, while fans will also be praying that this is not Bruno‘s last ever appearance in a Toon shirt. He is being heavily linked with a move away from St James’ Park, and has a £100million release clause that can be activated very soon.
It would be heartbreaking to lose Bruno, and the midfielder has sent a message to supporters after the final game of the season.
He wrote on his official Instagram account: “Finished the season with a memorable match! 3 points, two assists, and 1 goal. Thank you for the support today and we hope it’s enough for us to be in Europe next season! Howay the lads.”
Bruno proved why Newcastle United need him so much
Not that you should read too much into every word posted on social media, but Bruno does appear to imply that he will be at Newcastle United next season, as he and his teammates wait to see if they have qualified for the Europa Conference League.
In truth, the wording of this post will not mean anything. But it is going to be a decisive month for the Brazilian, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City having the chance to sign him if they are able to meet his £100million release clause.
His performance against Brentford was a reminder of why he is worth that much. Bruno was the best player on the pitch by an absolute mile, providing two assists and getting a goal himself.
It was a special performance from Bruno, as he caps off another special season. In terms of numbers, it has been the best of his career. He has provided 15 goal contributions in the Premier League, boasting seven goals and eight assists.
