According to the Savannah Police Department, the shooting was triggered by a heated argument between two women in a local business establishment. As the tension escalated, one of the women opened fire, triggering a chain reaction of retaliatory gunshots from multiple individuals.
The shooting resulted in 11 people sustaining injuries, 10 of whom were directly hit by the gunfire. The extent of the injuries varied, but authorities confirmed that none of them were life-threatening. Several of the victims were transported to the nearby Memorial Health University Medical Center for treatment, while others were treated at the scene.
