The Cambridge Beer Festival 2024 opens its doors today (Monday, 20 May) at 5pm on Jesus Green, and runs until Saturday (25 May).
There will be more than 200 British real ales from over 100 breweries and 80 ciders and perries from near and far, along with the international bar, mead and wine.
Cambridge CAMRA’s (Campaign for Real Ale) cheese counter will include cheese from around Britain, accompanied by pork pies, scotch eggs, olives, breads and more.
Anthony Mobbs, festival organiser, said: “Once again, we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to Jesus Green and our fantastic range of beers, ciders, mead and wine.
“Last year we had around 38,000 people attend, and we’re hopeful the weather will hold up next week. However, even if it doesn’t, out massive marquees make sure that the beer is still available for all to enjoy.”
This year the festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary of hosting beer festivals in Cambridge - and there will be some beers brewed specially for this festival with suitable names.
The posters, promotion and limited edition beer glasses all follow this theme and, as always, are highly collectable.
Additionally, the event is hosting the CAMRA Learning and Discovery Centre, offering beer tastings and an informal area where you can drop in, talk to the experts and ask them any questions about all-things beer.
The Family Tent welcomes children accompanied by a responsible adult and on the Saturday will feature a brass band and activities for kids.

The festival supports a charity every year, and this year that charity is Cambridge Women’s Resources Centre, the grassroots community charity dedicated to educating and encouraging women seeking positive change for themselves and their families.
Finally, the festival is organised and run entirely by volunteers. Without those volunteers the festival wouldn’t run.
