The Times inadvertently share major Jarrod Bowen news ahead of England squad announcement

West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen will be waiting with bated breath ahead of the England squad announcement this afternoon.

Jarrod Bowen has been in sensational form for West Ham so far this season, and many believe that he is a shoo-in for the EURO 2024 England squad.

Gareth Southgate is under extremely big pressure to guide his England side to EURO 2024 success this summer.

Bowen has been part of the last few Three Lions squads, and has always looked more than comfortable when mixing it with the country’s very best players.

That doesn’t surprise me. The 27-year-old has bagged 20 goals and 10 assists in 44 games for the Hammers this season (Transfermarkt), so he has every right to be confident.

Bowen won the highly acclaimed ‘Hammer of the Year’ award, and he has definitely been our most consistent performer for quite some time now.

He has gone from strength to strength this season and improved beyond all recognition – something that was highlighted by David Moyes just a few days ago.

Now, the next step for Bowen will be to showcase his ability on the world stage. Will he be given the chance to do that with England out in Germany this summer though?

Major Jarrod Bowen news ahead of England squad announcement

So judgement day is upon us.

According to the Telegraph, there are a handful of top-class players who will unfortunately miss out on the England squad for EURO 2024.

With so many quality players at Southgate’s disposal, there was always going to be a couple of surprise omissions.

Fortunately for Bowen though, he is not named as one of those players. The likes of Marcus Rashford, Jack Grealish, James Maddison and Ivan Toney could all miss out, with Southgate preferring to stockpile defenders.

The West Ham star thoroughly deserves to be included in Southgate’s squad, and I would be absoltuely shocked if he isn’t.

The former Hull City man has worked his way up from non-league football to the dizzy heights of the Premier League and now most likely a major tournament on the international stage.

The England squad announcement will be at 2pm this afternoon.
