Kai Havertz makes 'big' promise that every Arsenal fan will love after title near-miss

Kai Havertz has sent a heartfelt and hopeful message to Arsenal supporters after the Gunners missed out on the Premier League title.

Arsenal were able to take the Premier League title race right down to the wire this season.

Kai Havertz scored the winner late on, as the Gunners beat Everton 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on the final day of the campaign. However, as Manchester City were able to overcome West Ham United, they retained their Premier League crown for a fourth successive season.

Whilst it didn’t end in triumph, Havertz can look back on his first campaign as an Arsenal player with a great deal of pride. The German forward was in scintillating form in the second half of the season, and played a huge role in taking Mikel Arteta’s side so close to the title. Havertz was more effective in front of goal for Arsenal this season than he ever was in his Chelsea days.

Things were not easy for the 24-year-old when he arrived at the Emirates Stadium in the recent summer transfer window. He came to North London clearly bereft of confidence. Havertz was not helped by Arteta’s attempt to reinvent him as a midfielder, as he looked like an awkward fit in the middle of the park for Arsenal.

However, after the turn of the year, he was able to establish himself as a striker and hasn’t looked back since. Havertz was able to prove his critics wrong, and has now built a real connection with the Arsenal fans.

Following the Gunners’ disappointment on Sunday, the 44-cap Germany international sent a message to the club’s supporters via his official X account. He stated: “Where do I start.. My first season has been one which has helped me grow as a person and a player in many ways. Very grateful for all the support this season, from fans, staff and my team mates. It’ll take time to process everything but I know with this club we can achieve big things.”

Arsenal still believe that success is on the way

Havertz is not the only Arsenal star to have promised that the best is yet to come. Declan Rice is also convinced that the club is still on the rise.

Speaking on the Emirates Stadium pitch after the final whistle on Sunday, Arteta made a vow to Arsenal fans that silverware success is on the way.

The Gunners have made year-on-year progress under the guidance of the Spanish coach. His faith in Havertz and Rice, who both joined the club in the recent summer transfer window, has been justified, and he will be looking to take his squad to the next level again this summer.
