Garang Kuol was on loan at the Eredivisie club Volendam for the 23/24 season and had a mixed time in the Netherlands. The Newcastle United loanee’s spell is now over, and he returns to St James’ Park with a point to prove.

He can do just that on Wednesday. Kuol could certainly make his Newcastle United debut against Tottenham Hotspur, which would be made even more special considering it’s in his home country of Australia.

When was Garang Kuol born?

Kuol was born on the 15th of September 2004 in an Egyptian refugee camp. His family fled their war-torn home in South Sudan to Egypt before eventually settling in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia in 2005.

He started his football as a junior for Shepparton Soccer Club, before joining Goulburn Valley Suns, where he trained in the youth and senior ranks for five years until the age of 15.

What position does Garang Kuol play?

Garang Kuol is a very versatile forward, who predominantly plays as a left-winger, but has tried his hat as a centre-forward and a right-winger.

His explosiveness on the wing makes him a nightmare for defenders, and will likely be terrorising Premier League opposition for years to come on Tyneside.

How tall is Garang Kuol?

Kuol is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall (1.75m). His height makes him nimble and is connected to his blistering pace.

What nationality is Garang Kuol?

Although hailing from Egypt, Kuol has chosen to represent Australia as his nationality. This is where he has lived since he was 2005, so it makes sense.

He has featured for the Socceroos from U20 level all the way up to the first-team squad, it’s also said that he idolises Tim Cahill.

Transfer Fee

On the 30th of September 2022, Kuol signed a four-year deal with Newcastle United for a transfer fee of just £300,000. This included various sell-on clauses and other bonus triggers. He then officially joined the Magpies on the 1st of January 2023.
