21-year-old driver dies when car crashes into woods along N.J. highway, cops say

A driver was killed on Tuesday afternoon when his vehicle hit a tree in a wooded area along a Central Jersey highway.

Police responded to the report of the crash at 3:02 p.m. on Route 518 between Kings Path and Aunt Molly Road in Hopewell. The car was found in a wooded area along the highway, the Hopewell Township Police said in a news release.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Pennington, was pronounced dead on the scene, police said. He was not identified.

His vehicle was traveling west on Route 518 when it veered onto the grass and struck a tree, officials said.
