Report: 'Outstanding' Hammer Moyes said is 'different from the rest' likely to leave West Ham

One player who David Moyes absolutely raved about recently is likely to leave West Ham United this summer.

David Moyes himself is leaving West Ham after four-and-a-half years at the London Stadium, and one specific player will almost certainly follow the Scot out the door.

Julen Lopetegui is set to replace the Scot, and the Spaniard will meet with Tim Steidten today to thrash out a summer transfer plan.

The new West Ham boss needs to make at least seven or eight new signings in my opinion, if we are to be competitive on all fronts next season.

However, Lopetegui must be ruthless with the players that he moves on as well. The Spaniard needs to clear out as much of the deadwood as he can.

That said, the latest player being linked with the exit door certainly doesn’t fit into the ‘deadwood’ category…

Player David Moyes rated very highly likely to leave West Ham

Whilst numerous new players might be arriving at the London Stadium this summer, there will be some on their way out as well.

And one potential exit will be difficult to swallow…

According to a report from the Evening Standard, young striker Divin Mubama will probably leave the club this summer.

What a big shame that will be, considering the hype that surrounded him when he started training with the first-team.

Back in November of last year, David Moyes told the Athletic, “Divin is different from the rest. He has a mentality and an attitude that is as good as any top player. He’s so determined and works incredibly hard for the team, so we know what we’re going to get with Divin. What we need him to do is develop in all his actions and technical ability, but he’s 19 and did a great job for us when he came on.”

Described by the official Hammers website as ‘outstanding’, Mubama is clearly a very talented young player.

However, with his contract set to end this summer, the club have obviously not been able to agree a new deal with him.

It first emerged that he could leave the club back in January, as new contract talks between him and the Hammers stalled.

Perhaps he’s demanding too much money, and will be set to follow the likes of Sonny Perkins, Aji Alese, Jamal Baptiste and Harrison Ashby out the door.

David Moyes will leave a fine legacy behind him at West Ham, but one of his main weaknesses was undoubtedly his inability to bring through youngsters on a consistent basis.

And as a result, it seems like we’re going to lose Mubama.
