Supporters of the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech are gearing up to take on a fundraising challenge at the end of the month.

On Friday, May 31, they are taking part in a fire walk to raise vital funds for the centre, which delivers palliative care, rehabilitation services and pain management, free of charge.

Taking part in the challenge are two nurses from the centre, Claire Walpole and Sarah Grimwood, as well as Libby Albutt, Ryan McManus, Kate Bell, and Nicole Scott who all have personal reasons to support the cause, Tesco community champion Julie Busby and Nikki and Regan from Sunlounger Travel in Wisbech.

Toni Bird, organiser and lead on the event, said: “The nurses are committed but extremely nervous to be taking part, but are really looking forward to doing it.

“It is a mix of emotions, I think they are nervous, but they will be proud that they are giving something back to the Alan Hudson Centre.

The nurses are hoping to raise £1,000 between them.

The event will be taking place at Firewalk UK in Thorney.
