European Cup winners are really eager to sign a Leeds United player this summer transfer window, according to a recent report.

The Whites are preparing to face Southampton in the Championship playoff final at Wembley this Sunday.

That said, they still don’t know what division they are going to be in next season, which is making transfer planning very tricky.

Now, it has just come to light, that one of their star players is wanted by a European Cup winner.

Bayer Leverkusen want to sign Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville

According to German outlet Sport Bild, Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville this summer.

The report notes that Xabi Alonso is keen to upgrade all areas of his squad ahead of next season and Summerville remains on his list of targets.

Though, any forthcoming deal will likely only take place if Leeds lose on Sunday, thus remaining in the Championship.

If they are to gain promotion, Leverkusen are expected to be priced out of a deal for the 22-year-old, who has netted 21 goals whilst laying on 10 assists this term.

Summerville scooped up the EFL Championship Player of the Season award, seeing off competition from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Sammie Szmodics.

A lot depends on Sunday for Leeds United

Leeds’ summer business will mainly depend on Sunday as if they are to suffer defeat to Southampton, it seems likely Summerville will be moving on and perhaps another key asset like Georginio Rutter, who has attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund in the past.

Daniel Farke’s men have already suffered defeat to Saints twice this term, so they’ll have to buck the trend.

Leverkusen chiefs will likely be keeping a close eye on the score.
