Arsenal prepare new offer for Grealish-like star after £17m bid rejected, he's 'agreed' to join

Arsenal are reportedly preparing a new bid to sign a long-term transfer target after rumours that he’s already ‘agreed’ to join the Gunners.

The Premier League season only ended on Sunday, yet it hasn’t taken long for the transfer mill to burst into life for Arsenal, who are set for a busy summer of big signings and long-term players departing.

Recent rumours have suggested that Arsenal are chasing Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso, whilst Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow has also emerged as a potential target for the Gunners in recent days.

And now, it appears that Arsenal are preparing a new bid for a defensive target.

Arsenal to make new bid to sign Fenerbahce fullback Ferdi Kadioglu

According to Skorer, Arsenal are preparing a new bid to sign Fenerbahce defender and Turkish international Ferdi Kadioglu, with the Gunners already seeing a €20m (£17m) offer rejected for the 24-year-old.

Likened to Jack Grealish based on the fullback’s ability to wriggle through gaps between opponents, Kadioglu has been rumoured with a move to Arsenal for some time, with the player’s father even suggesting that a deal has been ‘agreed’.

An inverted fullback who is also wanted by Bayer Leverkusen, it’s clear that Mikel Arteta is keen to expand his options in the right-back position despite Ben White being outstanding in the role once again this season.

Indeed, Kadioglu’s unique profile would open a lot of potential tactical possibilities for Arsenal if the defender was to join, and it appears that the Gunners are willing to fight hard to sign the Fenerbahce star.

Kadioglu could be ideal backup for White next season

Originally an attacking midfielder before developing into a right-back, Kadioglu’s story is not too dissimilar to Arsenal star Oleksandr Zinchenko, who took an almost identical path in becoming a left-back.

And for Arsenal, the Turkish international could be an ideal backup for White next season as well as give Arteta the option to flip his defensive system and have an inverted fullback out on the right.

With a second bid reportedly on the horizon, there’s a good chance that Arsenal could have Kadioglu signed before this summer’s Euros, where the defender’s value could skyrocket if Turkey go far in the competition.
