'I don't know': Kelvin Wilson questions whether £30m Forest star has fallen out with someone at the club

Kelvin Wilson isn’t sure whether the poor form of one Nottingham Forest player is down to a falling out with someone at the club.

The Reds have secured their Premier League status for a third successive campaign, with a 2-1 win over Burnley on Sunday cementing their place.

Ultimately, Forest got a little bit lucky this season, with Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United all struggling after promotion the previous year.

Forest had a pretty decent summer but there were a few players that failed to make much of an impact once again and Wilson has been discussing one of them.

What Kelvin Wilson has said about Ibrahim Sangare

The situation with Sangare is fascinating and Forest need a solution.

He was the man signed on transfer deadline day, supposedly set to come in and act as the defensive midfielder in the Forest team.

However, it’s been a frustrating season forSangare who cost Forest £30 million from PSV.

He’s spent the second half of the campaign on the fringes and his last 90 minutes came in March against Luton.

Clearly, Forest won’t want to cut their losses on Sangare unless they absolutely have to and Nuno Espirito Santo has a conundrum.

Former Reds defender Wilson has been discussing what needs to happen with Sangare and he’s not sure if there has been a fall out.

He told the Forest Focus podcast: “With Sangare, I think he’s a good player, he’s a really good player but for whatever reason it’s just not happened for him at Forest.

“I don’t know if it’s the style of player, I don’t know if he’s had a falling out with someone, I don’t know. He looks like a shell of a player.

“He’s a top top player though and you don’t lose that overnight. You either work and find a solution of how to get the best out of him or if he’s not in their plans you have to move him on.

“Ultimately, you play him or Yates, you don’t play both of them. He’s opted for Yates and I think in the situation they’re in, they made the right call.

“Sangare is more laid back, he likes to play a bit more than Yates and I don’t think Forest are at the stage where they can play like that.”

Forest need a clear plan with Sangare

Wilson has hit the nail on the head with his comments about Forest midfielder Sangare.

The Reds have a conundrum and it’s imperative that the management spend the summer trying to work out a plan for Sangare.

Given that he cost £30 million, it seems unlikely that the club will wash their hands of him and he will get time to prove himself.

At 26-years-old the player does still have some time on his side but he does have to start showing a little bit more.

As a defensive midfielder, he needs to start dictating games a little bit more and perhaps a style tweak is needed to suit him.

There were some positives for Sangare during his maiden campaign at Forest.

He ran the show away at Newcastle in a 3-1 win and was also instrumental in one of the goals in a 3-2 defeat away at West Ham.

However, the positives have been all too infrequent and hopefully, he can really kick on next season and silence the boo boys.
