‘He’s an exceptional player': Joe Hart is blown away by ‘perfect’ Celtic hero

Joe Hart was the subject of conversation yesterday as Celtic asked the fans to fire questions at their retiring hero.

We have already discussed Joe Hart’s love for Celtic, the moment the Parkhead support really blew him away and now the retiring legendary goalkeeper has picked out the Celtic teammate he believes is so ‘important’ for Celtic.

Over the past three seasons, Hart has played with the likes of the solid Cameron Carter-Vickers and the goalscoring exploits of Kyogo Furuhashi.

But it’s Callum McGregor who is the focus of his attention as Hart pays tribute to the legendary Celtic captain.

Hart ‘can’t speak highly enough’ about Celtic captain

Joe Hart has been instrumental for Celtic and Callum McGregor in the dressing room. His leadership and influence are certainly going to be missed when he goes.

And when asked by a Celtic fan how McGregor rates against other captains he has played with, Hart’s praise for his teammate was superb.

Hart said [Celtic FC on X], “I can’t speak highly enough about him. The biggest compliment I can pay him is that he’s willing to learn on the job.

“He puts the club before himself.

“On top of that, he’s an exceptional player. He’s perfect for a leader of such an important football club.”

It’s clear that Hart has a deep emotional contract with Celtic and a clear affection for the captain. When he eventually moves on this summer, it seems that McGregor will definitely miss the 37-year-old.

Brendan Rodgers certainly has a job on his hands to replace Hart. With Celtic being linked to the likes of Koen Casteels and Caoimhin Kelleher, the Celtic boss may well be able to replace Hart’s ability, but it seems the Hoops gaffer will have a job on his hands to replace the leadership the legend has brought to Paradise.
