Tottenham in contact over £30m forward who scored six more goals than Callum Hudson-Odoi this season

Tottenham Hotspur are in contact over a potential alternative for their reported summer target Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Ange Postecoglou‘s first campaign as the Tottenham manager is now over and the Australian has had almost a year to assess his squad.

That will lead to player sales this summer with a total of 15 Tottenham players said to be on the transfer list this summer.

However, new players will be on the Australian’s radar with a stronger squad required going into a season where Spurs will be competing in Europe.

Adding to the forward line is something which Postecoglou has already admitted he is looking for from Daniel Levy.

With the future of Timo Werner still up in the air, Spurs are believed to be eyeing a number of forwards to bolster their squad.

Tottenham in contact over Serie A forward who’s in high demand

Spurs are going into the summer with a number of uncertainties surrounding what front three Postecoglou will field next season.

Richarlison is another player who could be moved on if a big offer from Saudi Arabia is to land following interest last summer.

As two of this season’s forwards (Richarlison and Werner) may not be at the club, Spurs are said to be looking to bring in two new attackers.

And two of the names who have been linked already are Callum Hudson-Odoi and Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson.

According to Inter News, Spurs have now been making inquiries with the Serie A outfit over their Icelandic forward for some time.

Strong interest is gathering within Italy with Inter, Juventus and Napoli all credited in the report as being keen on the 26-year-old.

Genoa are believed to be looking for a fee in the region of £30m this summer for their prized asset which may prove difficult to achieve within Serie A.

Albert Gudmundsson could be more exciting singing than Callum Hudson-Odoi

Playing across a range of roles in the forward line, Gudmundsson is a player who does seem to fit the mould of frontman that Tottenham often seek.

Although Spurs are looking to sign more than one forward this summer, Gudmundsson could prove the more attractive despite having no Premier League experience.

What will be interesting to see is whether Tottenham look to bring in an out-and-out number nine this summer with Richarlison also a versatile forward capable of playing across the frontline.

Harry Kane‘s departure has not been replaced and adding more forwards who are capable of playing out wide may not provide that natural replacement for the England captain.
