Dad killed in crash with garbage truck in N.J town is ID’d

Authorities have identified the 53-year-old driver killed in a crash with a garbage truck earlier this week in Gloucester County.

Nicholas Sacerdote, of Cherry Hill, died of his injuries after the front of the garbage truck struck the side door of the pickup he was driving at noon Tuesday in the area of Lambs and Tyler Mill roads in Mantua, police said.

The westbound garbage truck was traveling on Lambs Road while the pickup was headed east on Tyler Mill Road, police Chief Darren White said. The trash truck driver was not hurt. The roads meet at an angle.

No charges have been field as of Thursday afternoon.

Sacerdote was a married father of two daughters, according to an online obituary. He grew up in Philadelphia.
