Albert Gudmundsson shares very honest thoughts on Premier League move with Tottenham showing interest

Tottenham Hotspur summer target Albert Gudmundsson has now revealed his thoughts on a potential move to England.

This summer transfer window is going to provide Tottenham with the opportunity to bolster their squad ahead of next season in Europe.

Ange Postecoglou is looking to add to his frontline over the coming weeks when the window opens and he admitted as much during the recent trip to Melbourne, Australia.

One of the players who has been linked with a potential move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is Genoa’s Gudmundsson.

With the Serie A campaign coming to an end over the coming days for Genoa, Gudmundsson has now provided insight on where his future may lie.

And the Icelandic forward has even commented on a potential move to the Premier League with Spurs believed to be interested.

What Albert Gudmundsson said about a move to the Premier League

The loss of Harry Kane last summer provided Postecoglou with a clear vision of what he has at his disposal in north London.

Heung-min Son and Richarlison provided the main source of goals over the campaign, but neither were able to come close to what the England captain provided the season before.

Tottenham are said to have been in talks with Genoa over the forward for some time now, but there is also interest coming from within Italy.

The newly-crowned Serie A champions, Inter, are one of the clubs who are being linked with a move for the Icelandic forward.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Iceland international admitted he will likely leave Genoa this summer if “a crazy opportunity” arises.

However, with reported interest coming from Spurs, the 26-year-old spoke about a potential move to the Premier League.

“If as a child I dreamed of the Premier League, now I have changed my mind: here is life. So soon Genoa and I will sit at the table and find the best solution for me and for them,” he added.

Ange Postecoglou’s previous comments show Spurs need to walk away from Albert Gudmundsson

Postecoglou has been pressed heavily on what Champions League would have meant for Tottenham going into the summer.

And the Australian always remained level-headed by saying he only wants to sign players that want to join Tottenham for what the club is, not because there may be Champions League football on offer.

“I want people to come to Tottenham who know this club, know the challenge we’ve got – and we do have a challenge, we’re different to other clubs in that we haven’t had success for a while,” he said back in April.

“So I’m looking for a certain type of character. One that’s going to say: ‘You know what, they’re not in the Champions League but if I win something with them, that could mean something for my career and to me. So I’m up for that fight’.”

With this in mind, Spurs surely need to walk away from any potential interest in Gudmundsson with the player admitting he isn’t keen on a Premier League move anymore.

Do not waste time in trying to convince a player who is not absolutely desperate to move to Spurs this summer and find someone who is willing to fight for the badge.
