The Gunners are said to be keen on the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Martin Zubimendi heading into this transfer window.

Joao Neves is another player the north London club are keen on.

Arsenal would like to sign Joao Neves if he becomes available

The insider shared what he knows about Arsenal’s interest in the ‘excellent’ Benfica star.

“It seems to me he’s a player they highly rate, they’ve scouted him for a long time. We know Benfica don’t want to lose him, but it’s one of them. If the opportunity arose they would like to do it, they like the player, but I wouldn’t put any money on it,” He said.

Joao Neves will be difficult to sign

Arsenal would like to sign Neves if he became available, but the chances of that happening are slim to none.

The Portuguese midfielder has a huge release clause attached to his contract, and as the sales of Enzo Fernandez and Darwin Nunez have shown in recent years, Benfica are no pushovers in the transfer window.

The Portuguese club won’t sell Neves on the cheap this summer, and that may rule Arsenal out of the race to sign the Benfica star this summer.

At the age of just 19, Neves may not be in a rush to leave Benfica at this point in any case, but if he does become available, Arsenal may well be in for him.

It may not be one for this summer, but Arsenal could end up going for Neves at some point in the future.
