TV star bares all but 'grew up very repressed like everybody the sixties'

If there’s one Bravo star known for her larger-than-life personality and risqué social media posts it’s Lisa Rinna. But, she wasn’t always so daring. Lisa explains how after growing up “repressed,” a trip to Tahiti with her now-husband changed her life forever. The mom-of-two is oozing “happiness” in her sixties and she’s showing no signs of slowing down as she graces the covers of magazines.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and her husband, Harry Hamlin, have spent over 30 years together. And, in a new interview with Cosmopolitan, Lisa explains the vital role her partner played in boosting her confidence.

Tahiti trip changed Lisa Rinna’s life

Speaking on Sherri this May, Lisa laughed about how she said she’s “aging disgracefully.”

The reality TV star revealed how she “wants to break rules” at 60 – but she wasn’t always this way.

In an interview with Cosmpolitan, she explains how she and her now-husband took a trip that impacted the rest of her life:

“He tells this funny story about taking me to Tahiti after we were dating for about a year and a half, and we had this over-the-water bungalow and we were out taking photos and I was very self-conscious, if you can believe it. And he said, “Can’t you pose or something?” I was just standing there with my arms down at my sides. I think that day just opened a door and from then on, I was like, ‘Yes, I can do something’.”

Speaking of Harry, the ex RHOBH star said: “He is so accepting of who I am and always has been, and so I’ve grown into that. He’s been a supportive partner this whole time.”

Lisa dealt with bumps in the road

Although Lisa explains on Sherri how “happiness” from the inside is what keeps her looking great externally, she hasn’t always had it easy in life.

Speaking to Cosmo, Lisa said she experienced postpartum depression after having children: “I completely lost my mojo.”

She added how the experience was “scary” because there were times she “felt completely hopeless” despite normally being a “very positive and a very happy person.”

Lisa said: “I didn’t know I had it for the first 15 months of Delilah’s life, and then once we figured it out, I was treated for it, and I was ready for it when I had Amelia. I went on an antidepressant, which helped tremendously. Without that, I don’t know how long it would’ve taken.”
