‘Massive target’: Man United could end up signing £60m Premier League star this summer - journalist

Manchester United are eyeing a move for a Premier League star who’s a ‘massive target’ for the club.

Erik ten Hag’s future remains up in the air even after a shock FA Cup final victory over Manchester City on Saturday.

Manchester United pulled off a 2-1 win over their rivals at Wembley thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Yet, Ten Hag admitted after the game that if United no longer require his services, he’ll ‘win somewhere else’.

Despite the uncertainty over Ten Hag’s future, United are seemingly planning for a busy summer ahead and talkSPORT’s Alex Crook provided an update on one of their targets after yesterday’s FA Cup final.

Man United could sign Michael Olise

Speaking on talkSPORT [25/05 7:26pm], Crook claimed that Crystal Palace star Michael Olise is a ‘massive target’ for United.

The journalist also confirmed that Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is on United’s radar.

“They have not got £200 million to spend because they have been such bad buyers and probably as bad sellers, so when it comes to the Premier League Profit and Sustainability rules, United have got to tread very carefully,” Crook said.

“And Michael Olise is a massive target. There’s every chance that that transfer could happen. They are keen on Jarrad Branthwaite as well.”

Olise reportedly wants United switch

As well as interest from United, the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Chelsea are all said to be keen on Olise.

The Frenchman has enjoyed an exceptional campaign at Selhurst Park, netting 10 times and providing six assists in just 19 Premier League appearances.

United may well have the advantage when it comes to landing the 22-year-old though as he reportedly prefers a switch to Old Trafford.

Much could depend on who’s in the dugout next season and the Red Devils will have to make a decision on that front sooner rather than later.

Olise is valued at around £60 million by Palace and would go a long way to solving United’s issues on the right-hand side should he arrive in Manchester.
