Nottingham Forest officially have a player who is more clinical than Alexander Isak

The season has come down on the 2023/24 campaign and Nottingham Forest had a player who was more clinical than Alexander Isak

The Reds finished 17th in the Premier League and it wasn’t a season to really remember too fondly.

There were some positive moments, however, and some days to remember watching Forest in the top flight once again.

Forest managed to beat FA Cup winners Manchester United at home, were victorious at Newcastle away and also beat Chelsea back in September.

There were also some top performers, with Morgan Gibbs-White, Murillo and Callum Hudson-Odoi catching the eye.

It was also a season to remember for Chris Wood as he scored 15 goals in all competitions.

Now, some statistics have come to light regarding the big striker and they make for very good reading.

Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood is more clinical than Alexander Isak

These statistics are quite remarkable it has to be said and highlight just how good Wood has been for Forest this season.

His 14 goals have seen him equal the most he’s ever scored in a Premier League campaign.

He’s also been in fine form and it would appear that the percentage of chances taken makes him more clinical than Isak.

These statistics come from The Other 14 on X and Wood is actually has the third-best conversion ratio in the Premier League this season.

He’s converted 14 goals from just 48 chances giving him a 29.2% and he’s considerably higher than Isak.

Despite his 16 non-penalty goals, Isak has had 72 shots which gives him a conversion ratio of 22.2%.

Wood can star again next season for Forest

Despite his advancing years at 32, he’s still a big player for the football club and Wood can star again next season.

The talisman has been brilliant under Nuno Espirito Santo, scoring 11 of his 15 goals under the Portuguese head coach.

Wood has kept Taiwo Awoniyi out of the team during the final weeks of the season and scored two against Burnley last Sunday.

Forest paid £15 million to land Wood, much to the dismay of the supporters but he’s won them around now.

These stats showcase what he’s capable of with the right service and hopefully, the striker can produce the goods again during 2024/25.
