New SFA footage captures superb Celtic moment vs Rangers that echoes Invincibles

Brendan Rodgers’ first season at Celtic ended with a dramatic late winner in the Scottish Cup Final, so it was fitting that the initial campaign of his second spell finished in the same way.

Adam Idah’s quick-reaction finish past Jack Butland in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Rangers is a moment that will live long in the memory of supporters.

Much footage has been shared of the goal and subsequent celebrations but today the Scottish FA published a new angle on the incredible scenes via their official Scottish Cup social media accounts.

The video shows an epic wide angle of the Celtic end erupting in joy with ‘limbs’ on full display. The chaos is beautiful to watch and will no doubt be replayed again and again by fans for years

The shot – embedded below – also captures Cameron Carter-Vickers’ reaction to the goal. The big defender collapses to the ground in ecstasy and, perhaps, relief as Idah slams the ball home.

It’s reminiscent of the famous video of Craig Gordon from the same vantage point in 2017, when the goalkeeper fell to the ground after Tom Rogic’s immortal Invincible treble-winner against Aberdeen.

This year, the treble eluded Rodgers and Celtic but there’s no doubt they’ll be motivated to push on from this season and seal a clean sweep of trophies next term.

In fact, captain Callum McGregor has already referenced that on media duties in the wake his latest trophy triumph, stating that it’s time to get the other trophy back in the cabinet.

He’s one of the few at the club who have experienced the entire run of dominance from Rodgers’ first arrival to this point, winning 19 of the 24 trophies available domestically since 2016.

With a winning mentality so ingrained in this group of players, the smart money is on that dominance continuing for a while yet.
