It’s safe to say Alliya and Shawn have 90 Day Fiancé fans super emotional this May. Since appearing on the TLC show, Alliya has had viewers in “tears” more than once. Last week’s episode saw the heartwrenching moment she said goodbye to Douglas play out. Now, fans are wiping their tears away over Shawn and Alliya’s adorable love story.

90 Day Fiancé: Love In Paradise season 4 episode 6 marked not one, but two super special occasions.
Alliya was turning 25 years old. And, not only was her partner, Shawn, taking the moment to celebrate her birthday, but he had another surprise in store.
Shawn threw Alliya a party for her birthday, and he also arranged a surprise proposal – which explained his nerves.
The night was the first time Shawn had met Alliya’s mom. Fans were also taking to X (Twitter) to share how clear it was to see Alliya’s “support” network. One wrote: “Beautiful to see.”
Proposal has fans ‘teary-eyed’
Taking to social media this May, fans were over the moon to see Alliya and Shawn engaged.
One tweeted: “So happy for Alliya and Shawn” and more said they were “teary-eyed” over the proposal.
Others said: “Excited for Shawn and Alliya now that they’re finally engaged!!”
Some also shared they were “surprised” by the proposal, as Shawn had expressed some doubts about his relationship earlier in the episode.
They tweeted: “I’m honestly surprised Shawn proposed. He looked at one point like he might have walked away from the relationship because he wanted Douglas, not Alliya.”
Although fans are clearly happy to see the two engaged, a quick glance at Alliya’s social media and there’s no ring to be seen.
She shared a snap of herself on her IG Stories on May 27 wearing gym clothes but there doesn’t seem to be an engagement ring on her left hand in the mirror selfie.
How old are Alliya and Shawn?
New York-based Shawn is 61 years old. His now fiancé, Alliya, just turned 25 on 90 Day Fiancé.
There’s a 36-year age gap between the couple.
Some fans took to social media to share their surprise at the age gap this May: “There is so much going on with Alliya and Shawn’s storyline that the age gap seems to be getting completely overlooked.”
Shawn took to Instagram to share how even he’s surprised at his own age. He explained he has a 45-year-old daughter who is old enough to appear on TLC’s Milf Manor.
“Daily happiness = When I realize my “oldest” daughter (45) is now age appropriate to “apply” to be on TV’s #MILFmanor…yet I am still claiming to be in my 30’s.”
