Daniel Munoz shares what he first noticed when making his Crystal Palace debut at Selhurst Park

Daniel Munoz has been a revelation on the right side for Crystal Palace since his arrival in January and now he’s spoken to club media.

In January, Crystal Palace made two signings who have turned out to be excellent to date. Adam Wharton has stolen all the headlines as he’s one of the four Eagles to be called into the England squad this summer.

The other player to arrive was Colombian right-back Daniel Munoz who’s really more of a wing-back despite being signed under Roy Hodgson‘s back four system.

Almost as though he was signed for Oliver Glasner instead, considering how perfectly he fits into the Palace line-up at right wing-back.

Now Munoz has been speaking to the club media and in doing so has discussed a few prominent points about his move to Palace thus far.

Daniel Munoz shares the first thing he noticed at Crystal Palace

In an interview with club media, Munoz has been discussing his entire career to this point and in doing so touched on the first time he played at Selhurst Park and the move as a whole.

“When Palace’s interest first came up, it felt special to me…. but it has been even better than I expected. Being on the pitch, I’ve realised that this is the best league in the world.”

Continuing, Munoz explained how he felt upon arriving at Copers Cope and in South London.

“London has welcomed me, as well as my family, in a special way. Adapting to living here has been very easy – this is a football city.

“When I first stepped onto the pitch at Selhurst Park, the first thing I saw was a stadium full of fans who never stop cheering, who are always there for us. That’s motivating for you as a player – you feel the support of your people. That always encourages you to give more.”

Finally, Munoz decided to discuss Glasner and admitted that he is expecting success with the Austrian.

“The manager here is a great person and he’s going to empower us to take a step further. We’re going to achieve great things with him.”

Daniel Munoz is almost tailormade for Oliver Glasner

Signing Munoz under Hodgson was a pretty bizarre move as he didn’t suit the system that the former Palace boss wanted to play at all.

Signing an incredibly forward-thinking wing-back to play as a right-back in Hodgson’s rigid system which struggled in an attacking sense.

However, the signing of Munoz actually seems tailor-made for Glasner which makes it almost as though he was signed for the system Glasner has since implemented.

Munoz has the right side locked down and there’s no chance he’s replaced anytime soon given how excellent he’s been in his opening five months at the club.
