Report: How much Crystal Palace are offering to complete a second summer signing after Chadi Riad

It’s only the second week of the summer break and Crystal Palace are already advancing in multiple deals to strengthen.

This summer will be vital for Oliver Glasner, with lots of work to be done within his Eagles squad. This is despite a rampant end to the campaign which saw Crystal Palace win six in seven.

There are multiple players departing Selhurst Park for free, while several stars are still being linked with big money moves elsewhere.

The departure of any player isn’t ideal for Palace, with a thin squad as things stand set to get even thinner, so it’s pivotal that additions are made.

One singing already looks imminent with Chadi Riad set for his medical early this week, as his manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed on Friday.

Now a report has revealed what kind of wages Palace are having to offer to sign a player Glasner loves.

How much Crystal Palace are offering Daichi Kamada

With Riad likely to be signing number one this summer, it’s looking increasingly likely Daichi Kamada could be the second.

Kamada’s contract is expiring at Lazio in June and with a prior relationship with Glasner, a move would make sense. There have been several reports suggesting this is likely with Palace offering Kamada a contract.

Now according to the Italian outlet Radio Sei, Kamada has an offer worth €5m per year (£4.2m per year – £81,893 per week), a figure which is said to have made the Japanese international falter and look towards the exit doors.

However, it is also reported that he remains in talks with Lazio over a potential agreement to remain in Serie A, but that a decision will be made by May 31st.

If signed, Kamada would be an impressive coup by Dougie Freedman, and bolster the squad’s attacking force substantially.

Where would Daichi Kamada fit in at Selhurst Park?

Kamada is a versatile attacking midfielder who can also play further forward in the number 10 position which could make him perfect to play in the Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze positions.

The 26-year-old would thrive in Glasner’s team given his impressive defensive work rate including averaging 2.1 tackles per game, winning 4.84 duels per game and 1.05 interceptions per game as per FotMob.

All of this has him ranking highly amongst his positional peers and he’d be a great player in Glasner’s high press if he was to arrive.

Although his talents also lie on the ball with impressive dribbling and chance creation of 1.4 per game.

Despite only scoring two and assisting two this season, he was used only 17 times from the start, rarely starting until April when he then started every game, scoring against Inter Milan in the process.
