Report: After deciding to sell 45% stake, John Textor could also pinch a transfer target from Crystal Palace

John Textor is looking to sell up at Crystal Palace and if he does, he could actually also steal one transfer target this summer too.

The story of John Textor looking to sell his 45% stake has developed very quickly in recent days, and now there’s been another bit added to the story.

Textor is looking to leave Crystal Palace as he revealed last week with a statement which was received well by his fellow Palace shareholders.

If up for sale it’s been reported that Steve Parish would likely be keen to add to his 10% if he was able to conjure up the cash to do so.

There could yet be quick developments on this story as Textor is aiming to swap Palace for Everton after meetings with the Everton owner Farhad Moshiri.

John Textor could pinch Wilfred Ndidi from Crystal Palace

It looks like Textor could be about to do more than just sell his shares this summer, but could also be about to use his other club Lyon to pinch one Palace target this summer.

It’s reported by Foot Mercato that Lyon is keen on grabbing Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi this summer as the Nigerian is available for free.

He’s one of the leading candidates to be signed this summer by the Ligue 1 side who secured Europa League football for next season.

The report explains that Textor is extremely involved in the running of Lyon and should be inclined to put his hand in his pocket to offer the Lyon boss, Pierre Sage, a competitive team.

The midfield at Lyon is expected to undergo some major changes this summer and given he’s a free agent he’d be one of Lyon’s ideal choices this summer. But this could impact Palace who are also keen on Ndidi and have been linked with making a move in recent weeks and months.

The Eagles don’t exactly need Ndidi anyway

While this would be a blow to see a target end up elsewhere, it’s not a target that would be detrimental to miss out on for Palace.

A midfielder in the mould of Ndidi isn’t something Palace need or is even lacking with several options in central midfield likely to be ahead of him if he joins.

Jefferson Lerma, Adam Wharton, Cheick Doucoure and Will Hughes can all do the job there along with David Ozoh and Daichi Kamada seems a real target ahead of the summer window.

So if Textor was to take Ndidi, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, and really he shouldn’t be a priority anyway so Lyon can have him.
