Danny Rose admits he had a ‘vendetta’ against Tottenham staff member when he was at the club

Former Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose has now admitted he had a major issue with one of the coaches during his time at the club.

It has been a number of years since Rose moved on from Tottenham having spent a large chunk of his career in north London.

The former England international was part of the Mauricio Pochettino era which saw Spurs concede just 26 goals in the 2016/17 Premier League campaign.

Rose played a huge role in Tottenham’s recent success as he featured heavily in the 2018/18 campaign when Spurs reached the Champions League final.

However, it was not all positive for Rose during his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the left-back admitting he had some struggles.

And his relationship with one of the club’s previous staff members has now been laid out for all to know in a recent interview.

What Danny Rose said about his falling out with a Tottenham staff member

Over his time in north London, Rose was able to rack up 214 appearances across all competitions for the Lilywhites.

He has now been without a club since 2022 but has been spotted training at Hotspur Way and has even played with the U21s.

Although the club may be looking after Rose following his struggles away from the pitch, it is apparent he has not always gotten along with some at Spurs.

Speaking on The Spurs Show podcast, Rose has now spoken about his falling out with the former technical director, Franco Baldini.

“Many people won’t know there was a Director there called Franco Baldini. He hated English, and I had a vendetta with him,” Rose said.

“When I came back from Sunderland the club was flirting with the idea of signing Fabio Coentrao from Real Madrid and he was instrumental in that, if there was a rise in my level of performance it’s because I despised him.”

Danny Rose also had infamous falling out with Jose Mourinho

Rose’s falling out with Baldini may only just have been revealed to the fans, but his fiery meeting with Jose Mourinho was caught on cameras for all to see.

During the Portuguese manager’s stint as the Spurs manager, the pair had a disagreement behind-the-scenes at Hotspur Way as the club were being filmed for the All or Nothing series.

Thankfully, with his falling out with Baldini, Rose was able to use that to his advantage as the interest in a new left-back spurred him on to improve his form.

Years on from Rose’s exit from Spurs, it only really feels like the club have found their successor for the Englishman in Destiny Udogie.
