The 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament gets underway on Friday with regional action taking place. The Raleigh Regional features No. 1 seed NC State, No. 2 South Carolina, No. 3 James Madison and No. 4 Bryant.
While NC State is the top seed in the regional and will be playing at home, it’s actually South Carolina that is favored to come out on top, according to DraftKings.

That said, it’s close and the odds are pretty much dead even for the two Carolina squads going into the Raleigh Regional. Let’s check out the regional’s odds below.

NC State finished third in the ACC standings this season after going 33-20 overall with an 18-11 mark in conference play. The Wolfpack are a dangerous team and are quite battle-tested at this point.
That’s also true of South Carolina, which didn’t quite put together the SEC season it wanted to this spring. South Carolina went 36-23 overall but finished just 13-17 in SEC play, doing just enough to eke its way into the tournament but not enough to host.
James Madison went 34-23 overall and 17-13 in the conference, while Bryant was 36-19 overall and 17-7 in the conference.
On3’s Jonathan Wagner broke down each regional of the NCAA Tournament, including the Raleigh Regional, sharing who he believes will win. Wagner has NC State coming out on top in Raleigh.
Here’s what he had to say about the teams in the Raleigh Regional:
“NC State has been inconsistent on the mound, and has had to overcome some injuries. Bryant is capable of hitting for power, but their pitching will likely struggle against the Wolfpack offense. South Carolina and James Madison are also capable of hitting for power and putting up runs. The Gamecocks should have the edge, and we predict them to face NC State in the regional final. Ultimately, we’re taking NC State in what should be a high-scoring end to the Raleigh Regional.”
